This is a great keyboard if you're looking for something with an integrated TrackPoint. Even if you're just after the touchpad it's very nice. I especially appreciate the lack of a Windows key (does anyone even use that?) and instead having two larger, much easier to hit Alt and Ctrl keys. The only find two things annoying, and they're pretty minor: the Esc key is above the function key row, making it even farther away from the home row, and the touchpad, when not instructed otherwise by a driver, has tap-to-left-click turned on, I end up occasionally clicking when I was just resting my hands. Overall, though, pretty minor issues for a great keyboard.

People may not like the Glide-point mouse or the "eraser" mouse (I can use either) but this is really the perfect keyboard/mouse for portable situations. If you're doing CAD, sure, there are better mice. There are more ergonomic keyboards. But if you're traveling, in tight spaces or any other situation, this thing is The Best.

I bought this directly from Lenovo because I couldn't find the most current version on Amazon (my version doesn't have the little pad below the mouse buttons but I've never liked that feature anyway). In the ~10 years I've owned ThinkPads, I've always liked the feel and quiet aspect of the laptop keyboard as well as the track pointer mouse but never thought to get it for my desk. Not having to reach over for a separate mouse is awesome in that it speeds up my work. I occassionally interview people on the phone for my work and find they can get a bit apprehensive if they hear a keyboard clicking away in the background, which isn't a problem with this new keyboard.
I read some online complaints about a slow response time, which has only been a problem for about 10 minutes in the 2-3 days I've been using it. When it occurred I checked my system meter, which showed the computer memory close to max (no idea why) so I rebooted and the problem went away (if I'm focused I type about 60-70 wpm). I downloaded the newest drivers (v1.02?) rather than use the CD that came with the keyboard (v1.0) which may explain why I haven't had this problem.
It would be great if they offered a version with the number pad to the right, but I knew that when I purchased this one so it's not Lenovo's fault. Another gripe, that's not a big deal but probably worth mentioning, is the age-old problem that the ThinkPad mouse will occasionally float a little bit on its own when you let it go. The problem arises when you try to use it again right away and notice the mouse won't go to where you want. I recall being told by a computer expert 5-10 years ago this was a "known problem" for the ThinkPad and was being addressed (maybe it's intentional but it's annoying). If you're thinking about a "laptop feel" keyboard, this one is great.

Physically, this is exactly like a ThinkPad laptop. Good firm construction and laptop like light keypress operation. Logically however there is no driver to take full control of all of it's features. Things like the ability to disable the UltraNav for those with stray thumbs and the push to scroll feature of the middle trackpoint button. This is the feature that allows you to hold the button down and scroll easily in all directions which is fantastic for large visio docs, picture editing, and 3D games. Obviously not a huge killer but definitely worth a mention. There are however other drivers that allow you to control the special keys.

I have been on a quest to find a narrow keyboard (so I can use the mouse closer to the keyboard) that meets all my needs. This one -almost- does it.
I wanted Ins and Del keys in the upper right(like my dell laptop layout), Arrow pad in the lower right, | and \ key above the return. This one appeared perfect..
However, there are two annoyances with the layout. One, IBM (for some stupid reason) decided to put the Fn key where the left control key normally is (at least on dell laptops). Second, the escape key is not directly above the ~ key, but shifted up one row. That makes the function keys shifted left one. So normally F2 is above the # 2 key, but now it is F3 instead. Dumb.
Overall, it is a good product -- just isn't superior for my needs. The trackpad and eraser pointer is fine, and the USB ports in the back are useful (although connecting two devices to the two ports made windows complain that it couldn't provide enough power to the hub.. weird).
Still looking for the perfect keyboard..
